We are a corporate asset disposal company who clear the assets from businesses that have closed or downsized. We recently cleared the contents of a catering college, along with a couple of restaurants, and have a large variety and quantity of commercial kitchen available for sale.
We are planning to hold an auction in Letchworth, Herts, on 10th June, though are happy to sell beforehand! If there is something you are looking for that we don't have, chances are we can source it from other jobs we are clearing at the moment!
Interesting .. Just to give members an idea, what kind of kit did you clear?
Hi, We have prep tables, sink units, fridges, freezers, fryers, range ovens, grills, glasswashers, steam ovens, combi ovens, hot cupboards, a mixer or two - all sorts!
Prior to the massive internet sales market for equipment sold from a garage, auctions were seen as a very simple way of selling some shall we say "lower quality items" for a premium price.
the idea is to advertise the small amount of second eqpt and then intersperse this with the imported products. Auction fever is very strong, people have made the effort to attend and that is a tremendous buying signal for the seller. How often do you end up spending more than you wanted too.
Dont know this company, although is product knowledge is good and I am not suggesting this is their tactic. All I will see to all your Members is "Caveat emptor" Buyer beware!
Hi,
This post was for a sale we were holding last year, though we still deal in second user catering equipment. We use auctions as a way to promote our product to a wider audience than our database alone, not to pass off 'lower quality items'! We have over 20 years experience dealing in second user commercial grade products, whether it is catering equipment, office furniture or IT.
I agree with caveat emptor in all manner of purchases, not just at auction, however would like to set the record straight - we have engineers test the equipment, especially the refrigeration, and spend time and money in making sure the units we sell are good value for money. I can provide a whole list of customers who have purchased, and continue to purchase, good quality second user commercial grade equipment at a good price with no problems and can therefore keep hard earned money in their pockets! Even buying brand new equipment doesn't always go according to plan!
We are based in Berkshire but can supply to businesses all across the south of England and into London. Please contact me with any requirements
Buying used catering equipment is something many operators may be considering in the difficult economic climate. The Catering Equipment Suppliers Association (CESA) offers advice on what to take into account and questions to ask if you're going down this route.

Just wondering if anyone made it to the event? I've never bought second hand as I work for a catering equipment supplier and so am in a bit of a privliged position for catering equipment!
My cousin is looking to start up as a professional caterer but has very little budget.
I'm a foody & work for a catering equipment supplier
People did come to that event and we have had many clearances since then!
We have a constant stock level so just send the shopping list and we can see how we can help. Where is your cousin based? Do you have equipment you have to upgrade that is still serviceable, which we may be able to help you move on?
