After weeks of speculation, Michelin has confirmed that it will publish the 2012 edition of its Great Britain & Ireland guide in October, not January as usual.
Some voices have welcomed the new publication date saying it brings the guide inline with the release of other restaurant guides such as the AA and the Good Food Guide. Others have been more critical saying the earlier publication gives newly launched establishments less time to prove themselves.
But will the new publication date of the Michelin guide really have any impact on the industry?
