Tender opportunity: grow your food business with Black Cultural Archives
Black Cultural Archives (BCA) is the home of Black British history: from our landmark HQ at 1 Windrush Square we collect, preserve and celebrate Black British culture and history with our range of exhibitions, our library and archive, our education and events programming.
At 1 Windrush Square we have a bookshop, we hire our iconic spaces for events, away days and meetings, and we have a café currently serving light meals, cakes and coffees.
BCA is located five minute walk from the Victoria line at Brixton, and in the middle of Brixton's thriving café culture and nightlife. In 2020 we are re-imagining our spaces with an innovative capital project which will improve our hire spaces, our courtyard (including 50 external café covers when not in event mode) and our café spaces.
We are looking for a catering partner with whom we can grow our offer to our visitors, in keeping with our mission to use the celebration of people of African and Caribbean descent in the UK to inspire and strengthen individuals, communities and society.
The catering partner will be expected to have input to our building redevelopment, and to operate the café at BCA, the event and room hire catering. BCA's redeveloped café is expected have space for up to 50 internal covers. BCA hosts over 50,000 visitors a year, including high profile guests ranging from international politicians, celebrities, tour groups, corporate events, community groups, school groups and university groups.
The three-year renewable contract, which will be awarded following competitive tender, will aim to commence in summer 2020.
Closing date for submitting the tender application: 14 February 2020.
The Invitation to Tender and related documents are available on BCA's recruitment portal, blackculturalarchives.breathehr.com/recruitment/vacancies/11408 to which completed tenders should be uploaded.
