Biology

I worked at a pet shop

What was your first job in catering?

I was a bartender in a night club

What do you normally have for breakfast?

I don't usually have time for breakfast. When I do, it's Israeli style – eggs, bread, salad, tahini and coffee

Which is your favourite restaurant?

Uri Buri in Acre, Israel

What's your favourite hotel?

The Arthur hotel in Jerusalem. But I'm not really a hotel person

What is your favourite drink?

Gin and tonic or arak (neat)

What is your favourite cuisine?

Anything Japanese or Middle Eastern

Which ingredient do you hate the most?

Coriander, because it tastes like soap. But I'm not a huge fan of black liquorice either

Which person gave you the greatest inspiration?

My grandmother, who taught me how to cook

Soap and a sharp knife

I don't want to be anyone else

If you had not gone into catering, where do you think you would be now?

Probably working with animals

Spiders!
