Service will continue for 3663 customers despite selling of Makella

(08 August 2007 11:06)

Customers of 3663 First for Foodservice have been assured that they will suffer no disruption after the supplier’s owner Bidvest Foodservice Group sold its e-procurement company Makella to US-based Amphire Solutions.

For the next 10 years, 3663's transaction management will continue to be managed by Makella.

In a statement today, the company vowed: “This will ensure 3663’s existing first class service is maintained, and there is little to no disruption for 3663 customers.”

Full terms of the deal were not disclosed but it includes the acquisition of the on-going business of Makella, its current customers and the entire Makella team.

Fred Barnes, chief executive of Bidvest Foodservice Europe and 3663 said: ‘We evaluated many options for accelerating Makella’s growth and the best option was to allow Makella to have complete independence from Bidvest.”
