Latest NewsDomino’s maintains sales momentum helped by poor UK summer(01 October 2008 10:32)The UK’s indifferent summer failed to dent Domino’s Pizza’s performance with strong sales over the period for the takeaway chain. In the 13-week period to 28 September sales at Domino’s increased 17.8% year-on-year to £83.3m (2007: £70.7m). This brings total sales in the year to date to £253.5m, an increase of 18.9% over last year’s £213.2m. Like-for-like sales, which strip out the effect of new openings, at the group’s 449 existing stores increased 8.8% during the period. Domino’s currently operates 535 stores. Chris Moore, chief executive of Domino’s UK & Ireland, said: “We are very pleased with the momentum in the business and the resilience of our business model during more challenging economic times.” Article continues below
