Former Castle of Brecon owner Cambrian Hotels is liquidated
Cambrian Hotels, which owned the Castle of Brecon hotel in Wales, has been liquidated following its collapse into administration in January this year.
Cambrian Hotels, which owned the 37-bedroom hotel in Powys, appointed Robert Lewis and Derek Howell of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to handle the administrative process.
PwC sold the hotel to Hugh Jones of Brecon Hotels in February for £1.1m, but decided the company could not be rescued as a going concern and instead took the decision to wind it up.
PwC said: "Expressions of interest were received from several parties and the administrators successfully completed the sale of the hotel on a going concern basis for £1.1m."
