Lexington Catering has dismissed rumours that it is about to be bought by facilities management company Mitie.
Gossip currently circulating the contract catering industry suggests that the independent boutique caterer is on the verge of takeover by the FM firm.
But Lexington managing director Julia Edmonds rubbished the rumours and said that tales of the "imminent acquisition" were completely unfounded.
"It's rubbish. It's completely untrue," she said. "I think the rumour may have been started by one of our competitors and I'm surprised to hear it's still doing the rounds to be honest."
