Hix at the Albermarle to be renamed Hix Mayfair
Mark Hix's restaurant Hix at the Albermarle, at Rocco Forte's Brown's hotel, is to be renamed Hix Mayfair.
The restaurant, which first opened in 2008, will be rebranded next week, taking on a more informal direction to bring it in line with the former Catey Chef Award winner's other restaurants.
The rebrand will include a new neon sign designed by Tracey Emin as well as updated interiors by Olga Polizzi, including new wooden floors. Meanwhile executive chef Lee Streeton has created a new menu of British classics, which will change weekly according to what's available from suppliers.
Commenting on the relaunch, Stuart Johnson, general manager at Brown's, said: "Over the past five years, Mark Hix and Lee Streeton have created a very special restaurant here at Brown's hotel. We are confident that our rebirth as Hix Mayfair will continue to deliver the immaculate service and quality cuisine that out loyal diners are accustomed to. At the same time, by taking a more relaxed approach to the dining style, we will also appeal to a wider spectrum of diners."
Hix, a former chef-director of Caprice Holdings, left the company in 2007, opening his first solo venture, Hix Oyster & Chop House, in Smithfield in 2008. His other restaurants include Hix Soho, Hix Oyster & Fish House in Lyme Regis, Tramshed and Hix Belgravia within the Thompson hotel Belgraves.
