Sodexho appoints CEO and president of Health Care Services in America
Caterer and facilities management company Sodexho has appointed Patrick Connolly as chief operating officer and president of its Health Care Services in North America.
The division has 1,700 clients and generates turnover of $4.2b (£2.07b), more than half of Sodexho's entire North American operation.
It was previously headed by George Chavel who was promoted to the position of president and chief executive of the entire North American operation in May.
Connolly has been at Sodexho for nearly 20 years most recently heading up its senior services business within healthcare as president.
Sodexho's American operation, which comprises the United States, Canada and Mexico is part of international giant Sodexho Alliance.
In the UK Redcliffe Catering has sealed a five-year deal worth nearly £5m in turnover to provide catering services at Solihull College, near Birmingham. Starting this month the caterer will provide services for up to 3,000 full-time students at five different outlets, including a healthy eating café. Gary Couch, service manager at the college, said: "We are looking forward to working in partnership with Redcliffe to create a sound business operation to meet the differing needs of students, lectures and VIP guests."
