Eden Foodservice extends Bristol school meals contract

Eden Foodservice has had the scope of its £40m Bristol school meals contract expanded by the council after a successful start.

The caterer, part of Rentokil Initial, started the £5m a year turnover contract to feed children at 126 schools in the Bristol area on the 31 October 2007.

Bristol City Council has now extended the contract to cover another 10 primary schools.

Tim Scullard, education client unit manager for Bristol council, said: "We have been delighted with the success of the catering service since Eden Foodservice started working with the council in 2007, which has been responsible for significant uptake in school meals.

"We are committed to continuing our close working relationship with Eden that has not only achieved cost efficiencies, but also driven innovation and quality throughout our catering operation."
